On my way!

I'm sitting in the airport right now getting more excited as the trip becomes more of a reality. So far I haven't thought of anything I've forgotten, but that could just be a matter of time. Although, thanks to Kristi, I think everything made it into the bags!
On the technology front, I am now the proud owner of a GSM unlocked phone that works on the 1800 frequency! Thanks to my parents who made the trip out to Southend to get the phone while I was at the dive banquet! I also have directions to the pre-paid SIM card kiosk hidden away in the San Jose airport between baggage claim and customs. Apparently it is very difficult to get them once you leave the airport, so I will not be leaving until I get an activated phone card!
My goal is to post every other day or so depending on the frequency of my adventures. Both today and tomorrow are orientation days when we tour the city and the school, so the opportunity for adventure abounds! More later!

  1. I hope you have no trouble finding the super-secret sim card kiosk. (let me know if there's a Spanish word for kiosk) So far we haven't found anything forgotten.

I hope today goes smoothly, your fellow students are fun/interesting and your host family are wonderful. I look forward to seeing your posts.

Your profile picture is awesome, by the way...
